Pink haired siren girl. She was unintentionally created without a personality by Honey, when she broke into the HRC. After Honey left, Crystal was completed and allowed to leave the HRC.
A teenage version of Dawn/David, with a little of Honey's genes mixed in, along with an imperfect copy of Crystal's siren gene. Her defective Siren powers are difficult to control, and affect both men and women.
Electronics University student. Attends the same school as Honey and David. He is Crystal's love interest, but is so shy as to be nearly oblivious to her affections.
Yeah, I noticed that, I just chalked that up to being relevant to this part of the story, or a mistake in the writing. Though I thought the latter would be less likely, then again this comic had been ongoing for over 10 years so mistakes in any respect are bound to happen.
What I’m left questioning is that of how both males and females have recently been subject to the curse of the siren. When originally that never happened.
Again 10 years ongoing I probably forgot the page where this was explained or it flew over my head if it was hinted at.
Well considering Dawnie is a semi-clone of Dawn, I’m going to say the same way Young Justice Superboy was made, with David/Dawn being Superman and Tom (I dunno if he’s the father but he’s the only one we’ve seen with her) being Lex Luthor, considering that, she’s not completely a siren, and considering the odd way in which David was affected by the siren virus, it shouldn’t be too surprising that her voice can work on females as well as males.
Check some of the other comics from early on that he’s in. He’s not a rude or cruel person, but he has very little in ethical principles and can calmly suggest and do truly evil things at a heartbeat. (especially to save his ass)
Which I find to be a LOT SCARIER than if he was just an ass (aka instead of a complete ass, he’s more akin to a monster)
It’s as I said. He has NO business working where he does. In the early days, his performance, was lackluster, bordering on outright incompetent. And now he’s unscrupulous at best, just randomly making people (which I thought was a HRC no-no). And by the sounds of that “reckon”, he’s loaded Dawnie with the latest version of his Deep South persona he infected Bay with back in the flashback. This man should be in jail for that alone. 😛
Tom is not an ass. Speaking for all the Toms of the web comic multiverse, the only Tom that truly qualifies as an ass is Bad Tom of El Goonish Shive. This Tom is definitely not an ass. Maybe an idiot savant; definitely a dweeb; but an ass? No. He seems to have consistently screwed up with the best of intentions.
“best of intentions”? Doubtful. Unethical selfish desires, more likely from the way the comics he’s been in would lead one to believe. (dude, LITERALLY screwing someone up would definitely be illegal)
It occurred to me that Dawnie might have three or four parents: Honey, Crystal, Ethan, and David. Which would give her Grandma Bay pretty soon and maybe Grandma Pearl.
I’m also reconsidering my previous statement: If Tom mutes Dawnie, he’s an ass. And her unintentional mind control opens up so many new vistas for comedic disasters.
Going by their posture, it looks like you have three kitties in heat. Better give the ” be normal” command soon or Ams will not be the only one having kittens.
Sorry to see no comic update for the next two weeks.
But…
Do have a great time at the San Diego Comic-Con.
That is one convention I will never get to attend, too darn expensive.
Does Dawnie keep changing size as she talks, because when she was on the elevator Dawnie was just taller than Tom’s shoulder, and here she doesn’t reach Tom armpit.
A ha! Telling them to go back to normal should free up Ethan from acting like Honey.
So, why has the Siren voice been affecting the fairer sex as of recent?
Notice also that she didn’t actually instruct them to act like kitties. Something is odd about this…

So now the Siren voice will affect any human. We need to see if it will work on cat people as well. Come on out, Neko!
Tom really is a complete ass, isn’t he. And to think, he seemed to be the nice one from that place.

He’s skillful at covering his tracks sadly. Someone should mess with HIS genetic code and see how he likes it.
Tom is clearly a villain whose evil master plan is behind everything that has yet occurred in this comic.
I would like to adopt one of those kittens, or at 3
…not the male
Er… actually two of them are male. But I know what you mean.
It seems Tom has modified siren powers unintentionally. This modification seems to effect sirens as well.
Seems the most logical explanation. Although logical explanations don’t seem to be such a regular feature of the Sailorsun.org-verse.
Well, now we know why Tom is wearing headphones.

You might be slightly biased, Mr. Tom. 😉

Ah I looked back on the previous page and noticed the text change after she said kitty.

Just a minor art flub. Don’t think too much about it. 😉
Really was more just trying to determine if Dawnie was a short woman, or a very overly developed child.
