It seems that Honey is able instinctively to “switch off” the Siren Command Voice, unlike Dawn. Maybe that comes from being already a woman?
Anyway, even if they’ve depowered the wrong sirens, that at least neutralizes Jade and Sapphire for the moment, and probably makes them even more afraid of the “weapon” that can steal away Siren powers.

I don’t see where you’re getting that idea. Maybe it’s hard to see, but both Honey and Heather are using the Siren Font. Notice how their text looks nothing like Crystal’s?

Actually, the first Google translation was “Our mosquito was defeated.” But that last symbol can be a katakana for the syllable “ka” and is often used to indicate a mosquito. But it’s also a kanji (Chinese-based ideograph) which becomes “chikara,” which connotes “power” or “strength” or the like. It’s one of the kanji taught in First Grade and a part of many compound kanji, such as ็ท, which combines “strength” with ็ฐ, “rice paddy”, to give you the symbol to look for when searching for the men’s room or the men’s section of the bath.

Not sure how Tom Sewell goes about it, but CD uses Google Translate. No idea how to get relatively low-rez text into a translator, so I’m guessing Tom just knows Japanese.
Tom Sewell uses Google Translate, plus the JDIC. I used to have two or three dozen books about Japanese, but those are gone now. Given time, I can usually puzzle out the gist of a manga, such as Toritsu Mizusho: The School of Water Business. Half the scanlated chapters of that one are mine.
