1160 : Chairs are Important
Once again Robert is a bit busy. So I’ve uploaded the comic, and Robert will fix any color or grammar issues when he is able.
EDIT: Robert here. Family reunions are crazy, time-consuming monstrosities when you have 60 cousins and nephews. But i’m back now, and the page is corrected.
I would think that Alex would have chosen the military dress uniforms for a wedding . . .
Why is David green?
Something weird is going on with Honey’s and David’s skin color, along with David’s hair color.
CD is having some sort of weird color balance problem on his computer when he saves JPGs. The PSD files are fine, but they come out in the wrong color when saved for publishing. When I save the same file to JPG on my machine, I get normal colors.
Anyone know what might be causing that?
I don’t know what could be causing it, but have you tried saving to a different file type first and converting it over to JPG? It could just be a settings thing or something, but I definitely don’t have as much experience with Photoshop as CD would, so I couldn’t really say where to start.
Why not use PNG instead? The problem here is the way the JPEG format dithers colors. You can get more compression with JPEG, but at the cost of poorer image quality. Can’t use PNG to post with this service?
We were using PNG previously, but I switched to Quality 10 JPGs because at the resolution we started posting the comics at, they’re much smaller, while having no visible compression artifacts. We’ve been using JPG just fine for about a year, and it’s only become an issue in the last few weeks.
@Michael and Tom, Resolving things like the colour issues and file format is why I let Neko hire a intern.
Await… what’s that…
Oh… sorry, Studio pet Elephant, who now that I think of it, I haven’t seen around for a while… Is he still in Africa?
Are we still paying him peanuts while he’s AWOL in Africa?
huh… ok…. back to drawing.
Is there Pancakes in Af-re-Ka?
What about saving as PNG on CD’s computer and converting to JPG with different program?
Moving forward, I think we’re going to try to get his JPG saving fixed. If that can’t be repaired, then he can just save the comics as PNG on the rare occasions when he needs to post them himself.
At this point, Honey could safely trust Alex and leave everything to Heather, but she’s still suffering from culture shock at the idea that her extended family can help. ^_^
Well at least he has one useful skill placing ‘Chairs in Line’.
In a way, makeup is a form of armor. It’s more of a social armor, so I don’t think Alex will have any problems applying the stuff.
The only question with Alex in charge is–will Bay’s wedding dress be jungle camo or desert storm.
The idiom, “Rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic,” is often used to describe a futile action in the face of impending catastrophe.
But the chairs were all neatly organized…
hence people wouldn’t have any reason to trip while going to the life boats…
Except when the boat went tail up… but that’s another issue.
Alex might be the one person in existence who could organize a wedding that would be fun or interesting to go to.
I thought that we had established that “Alex” in Cheer! is not the same as Alex-the-actress-who-plays-her?
They aren’t the same person, but one does typically hire an actress who can play a particular character very well. Alex the actress has a very similar personality to Alex the character.
Remember what Alex worn during that bachlorette party? Cameo dress.
In other words, Alex was cast to play herself… quite literally.
Though, I do think Jo had made remarks earlier in Sailorsun about having been a boy TG’d into a girl as happened in The Wotch. So… were all the Cheer! actresses TG’d too? Or was that just a non-canon remark?
