So, Dawnie can hear, but isn’t controlled by the Siren Control Matrix. I guess she’s gonna be the one to save the day.
Must be her defective siren gene. It’s not affected in the same way.
But Crystal also has a defective siren gene, and she seems to be affected just fine
Does she? I don’t recall hearing anything about Crystal having a defective gene.
Dawnie’s is defective because she has the ability to control women, too. Crystal’s just a mute copy of Pearl with some tweaks from Tom, isn’t she?
Crystal’s is defective because she has no ability to turn off her siren voice, that’s why Tom made her mute in the first place
However, Honey seems to be affected by the SCM. Notice that her speech is in a different color, and her eyes have turned blue while David’s and Dawnie’s are still normal. Maybe she’s been partially infected with the siren gene too. Remember, the current Honey has a reconstructed body after she became a siren–and she became a Siren again not too long ago, although only for a short time.
She’s under Dawnie’s mind whammy from earlier. Her eyes turned green then and have stayed that way. It’s hard to notice in 1137 but they’re still green. It’s also why her speech bubble is green.

There’s no way that horrible noise can be worse than dubstep or Justin Bieber music at normal speed. Good luck getting things back to normal, Dawnie.
I was going to make a joke along those lines too, but then I realised I am so out of date even my musical criticism is ten years out of date. Seriously, I cannot even bring to mind any new singers or bands from the last year, good or bad. I’ve become a Radio 2 listener, its finally happened.
Only a decade? I’m still at the point where rap is crap … oh wait it is still crap … now get off my lawn or you’ll get hit by the lawn darts.
You know, it just occurred to me. If Tom’s gone full on Super-villian and has been planning this for awhile (judging by the control overrides placed into Crystal’s Personality), what nasty surprises has he cooked into Brad? I’m thinking Bay and the others may be in big Trouble if that kicks in….perchance a dormant siren gene going active to place him under Tom’s control? So much for Bay’s happy ending.
I don’t think there are generic control overrides in Brad. Tom literally created Crystal’s personality from scratch, which allowed him to have unprecedented control over her. He didn’t do that with Brad.
Didn’t he do the same thing for Dawnie?
Tom – Maybe yes, maybe no. When we first saw Dawnie, she seemed to be running on a child version of Tom’s Dixie personality, based on her verbage. However, since she pulled a Hotaru and skipped forward around 5-10 years, almost all traces of “Dixie” appear to have gone. Her verbage seems to be normal, save for referring to David as “Pa”. So either her aging has removed the “Dixie” AP, or it’s still lurking in her subconscious, waiting for Tom to take her over.
Since when did Dawnie go through rapid aging? As far as I know, she’s still 15. I mean, look how much shorter she is compared to Honey and David.
@Tom (not the evil one): Yes, he created Dawnie’s personality profile from scratch, too. I imagine that the same overrides exist in her. I hope he doesn’t get a chance to use them.
Robert – It might have been me, but she looked older between https://sailorsun.org/?comic=1005-take-cover, you’ll notice she sounded like she was Brady’s age or less, and https://sailorsun.org/?comic=1032-do-they-have-wreck-it-ralph, where she looks and sounds a couple of years older. Maybe it was combination of the “Dixie” accent suddenly dissappearing, and the fact the CD has been a bit unstable drawing Dawnie’s hair length – it seems to keep bouncing between mid-shoulderblades, and a slightly long pageboy.
Well, just to set the record straight, I asked CD to clarify how Dawnie’s age would work back when she was introduced. She no longer ages rapidly now that she’s out of the HRC maturation chamber that Tom grew her in. I believe she is approximately 15 years old, and will age in real time from now on.
