Poor Dave… how did he get the virus in the first place?
It transferred to him from Crystal due to the broken body-swap machine. His previous swaps with crystal were with a *working* bodyswapper, but the last time it was a complete accident and the machine that did it was badly broken. It was hastily repaired, so when they used it to swap everyone back, it didn’t quite work correctly.
That doesn’t make sense. When you think of a body swap it be mental patterns that’s more electrical than physical how does a virus hop onto that?
Lioconvoy, depends on how you want to look at it. If you think more like the essence of a person is transferred rather than an electrical overwrite of a persons brain. I could see how a virus could be transmitted with that. Thanks for the explanation Robert, always thought it was the choker not the machine being hastily repaired.
@Lioconvoy – It was stated in chapter 4 that DNA is a myth and a Helix is what carries genetic codes in this universe. The alpha strand is the physical attributes and the beta strand is the personality/mental attributes. Therefore a body swap machine, in this universe, would be doing a temporary alpha/beta Helix strand swap between people, which would be a genetic manipulation.
In our universe, a virus is basically just RNA with an added protective shell to assist it, so it’s feasible that a machine that does what’s effectively swapping half of a person’s DNA-equivalent would be capable of virus transmission (or fail to purge on transmit back, perhaps).
Don’t try and make sense of the webcomic, we’re lucky enough to have a timeline graph, though the science of the world this takes place in would be a fun mini filler story..
Yeah, something you have to do when reading this comic is throw out everything you know about real-world science. SS.org-verse doesn’t follow all the real world laws of physics or biology.

Feel really bad for david right now. Not only is this plan totally failing but his reward for the attempt is a painful transformation back to female.
Good gravy, I knew they were after Dawn! That poor man, well at least he’s happy, unlike the other people who work in the security clearance gates.
I think david is better off as dawn. Though I wonder if she would pass on the siren virus if she ever had kids?
