Bay Smith is a main character. Once a guy, she was turned into a girl several years ago. She keeps this fact a secret, and only a handful of people know.
She's now a struggling actress whose roommate is actually her daughter from an alternate future timeline.
I see one significant problem, Tom messed up Brad’s/Bay’s sexual orientation when he thought he was editing Dixie’s profile. Does Bay truly want to go back to being Brad if she was to take the time to really think it through? Would this mean Brad has to be deported or would Red want to marry a guy?
I’ve been saying this for awhile, now. Bay simply isn’t Brad anymore, and hasn’t been so for years. Trying to fit back into Brad’s shoes is going to cause nothing but misery. And regret. And hurt.
This is my thought as well. I don’t think Bay is really capable of taking that step. Note that she’s really surprised that Tom’s work panned out. She wasn’t expecting this. Wasn’t *hoping* for this.
I love this story and the characters involved but this is one path I hope isn’t followed through to completion. It would feel like the story concludes by killing off the main character.
of course armchair metaphysics says that for something to change the original form must be destroyed so by that reasoning Brad was destroyed sometime ago.
At this point it’s probably best to keep the DNA on file. What would make Bay happier, becoming male again or staying female and continuing on with the wedding? I am sure glad I don’t have to make this decision.
“Mind Transfer” sounds like braintaping. Get out your copies of Car Wars or GURPS to find out where this term originiated–although it’s been used in fiction and, when you think about it, in Avatar 2 since they’re bringing back Quaritch.
Anyway, if they can give an artificial personality to Dawnie, they can obviously give a copy of a natural personality to any body they make.
Unless CD desides its better for the story to ignore these implications to force a difficult choice on Bay.
I think the salient points here are in the last two panels: Tom’s intern has already started growing the “Brad” body, it’s developed enough to have a mind transferred to it, and the whole process can be completed overnight.
This means there is already a male version of Bay in this world, only question is what are they going to do with it?
So, will Bay aka Bradley then just give the old one to “Red” Marks? How to break the news to him…

This is more accurate than you think – TOM THE INTERN literally messed with Bay’s make up, so our Bay VERY LITERALLY hasn’t been Brad for years.
Besides all that ,CD has Givin us a ton of hints that Bay is pregnant . What was to happen to Bay’s body after the transfer? I shudder to think!
.
Yea this looks like it’s falling back on the old cliché of transformee being stuck because of pregnancy
Seriously now u r using the same caption for both jeanie bottle and sailor sun

if it’s an plain transfer then someone has to die either Brad or Bay.

Why can the neural transfer work as a mind copier? We could have both a Bay and a Brad.
