Lol. finally a Sailor Moon in-joke in a series that’s supposed to parody it.
It only took till nearly the end of the comic to happen…
Surely there were some SM jokes back near the start, weren’t there? It’s been years since I read it, though, so I’ve long forgotten.
Besides the fact that there are talking cats for no reason in this world? (Seriously, Bay worked for a talking turttle and even so she and a lot other people freaks out when they heard a cat speak for the first time), I suppose the whole weirdness of the time traveling dougthers is the bigges nod to M, plus the in-joke to the SM fan fics in the cameo of Sailor Ranko. Those are at least the ones I notice, I am not that familiar with SM to know of more.

It’s funny you should bring up Ranko. I’d totally love to see Ranko cameo as a guest during the wedding. CD’s last art of her was for an April Fool’s Joke in 2009 and…the artwork had improved considerably over her prior cameo appearance earlier in the arc. I’d love to see how he’d draw the character with nearly a decade of art evolution under his belt.
He drew Ranko a few years back, as a princess, with Ryouga in her lap. I’ll see if I can dig up the image. I probably saved it somewhere.

It turns out the tiara was the villain the whole time.
OK, what is Heather really going on about? Seriously, what does she mean by “V.I.”? It is obviously something that she doesn’t want to mention in front of either Bay, Honey, or both, so she has made up this excuse about the tiara.
I assume the VIP is her and Bay’s mom, who Heather has never met and Bay hasn’t seen or really spoken to since coming to America as Brad.
At least, I hope that’s who it is. I want to see her reaction to the discovery that she’s gone from having a son to having 3 daughters, 1 son, 2 grandchildren (with what seems to be another two on the way), and 1 great-granddaughter (who she sadly won’t meet, it looks like).
Another two on the way? Bay’s pregnant, but is Berry?
/\ – She’s had morning sickness since the “Batman and Sailor Sun” sex role-playing she and Trav did a while back, so I assumed she might be. Purely speculation, but what ideas have any of us had about this strip and its story haven’t been, at least to start.
