1065 : Proof No Longer Required
So CD and I had a bit of a discussion about this page, and as a result, I’m especially interested in the readers’ reaction. What are you guys’ and gals’ thoughts on this page?

I think there was a sort of “hands on” experience to prove that everything checks out. And while Bay doesn’t seem phased by it (pretty sure she tried it out a few times after the change), Heather’s face seems like this is going to be a secret the two of them will take to their graves.
It would convince me… I think… Hey Bay, I need convincing too.
something tells me some things are better left unexplained.. and leave it at that.
So Helix and TG guns aren’t common knowlege?
I really feel that in order to further help convince that Bay should “volunteer” Heather to help Tom for a while. I’m sure he could always use more test subjects for something. A mad scientist always needs more test subjects.
Why not just say, where do you think Brady came from then.
Considering Bay and Brady/Honey’s relative ages, Heather may assume they’re adopted?
Heather needed to have it proven to her that Bay is her sister and not her brother, at least not any more.
Bay could have been far harsher than that to Heather, in my opinion.
Sounds like a more thorough explanation of what the ray gun did when they arrive home after Bay drives her sister back from the shock.
I think the explanation is really best left to the reader’s imagination. I gotta admit though that I spent a bit of time trying to figure how the tweeting in the background could be representative of the whatever Bay was doing.
Yeah, that was my problem with this page, too. I didn’t feel that it was clear that panel 4 was implying a hidden action on Bay’s part. So panel 5 ended up being really confusing until I thought it through some more.
So did she flash her or…?
The flashing is what I would assume on panel 4, but it would be unlikely to have this effect, so probably not (or not only).
I’m just gonna say my best guess is that it relates to a certain time of the month.
Doubtful. Bays pregnant.
I would say that the main points would be that they were pulled off to the side of the road, Heather’s eyes are in a wide open/shocked state, and there are certain aspects of female anatomy and its responses that only another female knows about. Bay just demonstrated (tactically) she’s part of the sisterhood.
Alternately, Bay could have just explained to Heather how sexually aroused she gets by muscular men and what she’s already done with Red premaritally. That might open Heather’s eyes a bit.
Sexual reassignment surgery is pretty convincing now, even if Heather is convinced. Showing her “talents” (ref: Sailor Jupiter) probably wouldn’t convince Heather and it certainly wouldn’t convince me. I’ve been to Thailand and seen a number of ladyboys–probably I saw a lot more I didn’t identify as such.
Some video conferencing or security footage could have helped Bay with her explanation, feminine hygiene products or even a call to her gynecologist. The details aren’t necessary, but as a result, Heather is now convinced.
Well, you asked for it.
Perhaps she showed her proof that “Aunt Flo” is visiting.
I’m pregnant.
Oh, yeah. I’d forgotten about Bay’s bust expansion problem. But I don’t think she would realize it yet if it was true.
Interesting theory MCCC, and it would be the ‘best’ proof, but how to prove that sitting in a car. Hmmm…curious to see if there is a reveal as to the ‘proof’ later.
Timotheus can you provide the comic number where that was discussed? I must of not noticed that plot line.
I think it is a bit early in the pregnancy for her to feel the baby move, but maybe she told her she was pregnant.
oooo, that’s even better than my best guess.
It came up when they were driving to the prison and Bay tried to put on one of Heather’s blouses to cover up her Beaver Tails Tee shirt.
Hmm, what could Bay have done that could be seen as disturbing to Heather, while proving she’s female inside and out, WHILE ALSO not phasing Bay in the slightest?
I honestly have no idea but I’m leaning towards either something sexual or a disturbing stereotype.
Maybe Bay put down her pants. At least that’s the most common plot device for proving someone’s gender in my opinion.
Normally I would guess time of the month but the indication for a past story line is that auntie Flow has not been doing her monthly visits.
Can’t be something physical. Look at Heather’s comment before Bay offers proof:
“A ray gun gave you a girl’s body…? That doesn’t make you a real girl.”
So Bay didn’t show her evidence of a period or anything similar. She had to have demonstrated a female mindset. Maybe… she went into details of her fiancĂ©’s attributes or skill in bed…?
Does Heather like girls?
The art in these panels are a bit weird, they seem all stretched out…was there a scaling issue with this comic?
