Electronics University student. Attends the same school as Honey and David. He is Crystal's love interest, but is so shy as to be nearly oblivious to her affections.
Hmm, so the swap apparently cleared Sapphire’s mind of Dawnie’s commands. Fortunately, since Ethan is currently in command of Sapphire’s body, he can use the command voice on her.
Pretty sure Sapphire will have no idea how to act like Ethan, and will give herself away quickly to those who know him. It’s not like his group of friends aren’t used to bodyswap hijinks at this point. 🙂
Yeah, she does not know Ethan well enough, and would either try to act like her regular self, or else “blend in” by acting like her stereotype of how men act (which of course would not blend in at all).
Beyond the hijinks in the next few comics, this could lead to Sapphire getting to know Ethan better–not necessarily a good thing. It increases her chances of finding Crystal.
Speaking of Crystal, when are we going to see Crystal’s mom Pearl again?
I don’t think Crystal’s mom is Pearl. I was under the impression that Pearl is similar to the siren that Tom’s boss studied in the 70s, but is not the same one.
Oh right!! And they specifically said “you can’t return to the mainland.” I had forgotten that, because she ends up stowing away on the ship, regardless.
Yes, we saw her stowing away on the ship, but the other sirens went to Heathrow Airport to transfer to a plane to America, and we haven’t seen whether Pearl stowed away again. For all I know at this point, she could be semi-stranded somewhere in England.
They haven’t been seen to actually kill men, have they? They’ve enslaved them with their powers, and clearly have a very strong disdain for them, but I don’t think we’ve seen them murder anyone.
We’ve seen them ALMOST murder one (pretty sure having all your life energy drained out will kill you) probably would have if she wasn’t stopped. Is male life energy delicious?

But what do they do in a couple of hours when the swap wears off, and they have a pissed off siren in full control of her faculties?
Better hope that she doesn’t escape in his body. That would cause all kinds of problems if the others don’t know about the swap.

Actually, based on https://sailorsun.org/?comic=772-does-pearl-look-familiar I’d say she is the same siren that Crystal was copied from.
Why else would Pearl have been forbidden to accompany them to the mainland?
I’m a little confused regarding the semantics of whether it’s valid to call Pearl “Crystal’s mom”, though.

-snort- yeah, a half-blind nerd, that’s gotta be real scary 😛
Eh Tom might be a capital A but at least he’s not part of a race of male murderers. (one of the few times I approve of Tom’s actions)

Hiooot skin tone
So this is where Tom runs away and leaves Ethan to deal with all the consequences, right?
Is Tom so confident that Ethen can control the voice, that he removed the headphones in the last panel?
Appears that way? Could be an art error, though.
