Pink haired siren girl. She was unintentionally created without a personality by Honey, when she broke into the HRC. After Honey left, Crystal was completed and allowed to leave the HRC.
Crystal’s ability to speak was never removed. It was blocked. Ref Comic 807.
In comic 878, Crystal had a concussion and her thoughts were directly connected to her ability to speak. So basically she said anything she thought.
And in comic 907, it was revealed Crystal’s concussion was actually a Cerebral edema (Aka Brain swelling).
Think of it this way. In everyone’s head, there’s a bridge between the area of the mind to ‘decide what to say’, and ‘actually saying it’. Crystal’s bridge was torn down (by Tom and the HRC). When her brain swelled, the two parts of the mind were able to connect and transfer thoughts without the bridge.
Now that she’s better, she will most likely return to the way she was before the concussion.

I’m a little confused on something, in panels one and three above Crystal’s ear and to the right of her eyes. What is that light brown thing? Is that a band-aid of some sort covering up where they cut her open, or maybe just a simple hair band?
Did Crystal lose her ability to talk again or is she just not saying anything to avoid using her siren powers?
I’m not sure. And the comics in the immediate future which feature her don’t make that any clearer. They do some other exciting stuff, though. 🙂

I asked CD this same thing, and you’re right: it’s the bandage covering her brain surgery incision.
You think surgery would be preformed, and there would be NO bandage from it?
i thought it would just be like a line of stitches
For Cerebral Edemas they usually just drill a hole in your head to relieve the pressure from access fluids
