Bay Smith is a main character. Once a guy, she was turned into a girl several years ago. She keeps this fact a secret, and only a handful of people know.
She's now a struggling actress whose roommate is actually her daughter from an alternate future timeline.
I think the date is supposed to be with Marks (or at least Honey thinks so). She’s not letting Bay cancel because she knows that Marks wants to propose to Bay.
Well it’s not just that. Honey knows that this is not just any old date–it’s (or so she thinks) the date where a man is going to propose to her, which makes it the most important date of Bay’s life.
You would think that after 6½ years, Bay would have figured out that 5 hours is barely enough time to get started getting ready for a date. It’s not like she/he’s some guy who just has to dig through the dirty clothes pile and find the cleanest smelling shirt and slacks and throw them on anymore. She’s a girl now and looking good takes time and effort! Or so the girls seem to think. 😀
I could see the date being with a guy from a photo shoot or something.
