1164 : Behind the Scenes of Comics
CD is awesome. He was nice enough to add Robyn from The Wotch (as her actress, Ellie) to this comic, since I was hoping to see her.
And, as a consequence, we learn that it’s simply a coincidence that the actors who play the characters on The Wotch happen to have mostly the same names as the characters they play.
Oh yes, that is much more believable than magic.
Knowing what we know abotu the SS.org world, it actually is. 🙂
I guess Siren magic is strictly for Sirens then.
Which brings me to a question i’ve had for a long time. Are the events of IDoJB just that of a comics production or are they actually happening?
I mean we’ve seen Jeanie present with the cast of SS but still that could have just been a cameo.
Of course you know this means after SS is finished it will be revealed that all the “scientific equipment” of SS was created by Jeanie.
The comic doesn’t have the budget? Then how exactly did they get ahold of the TG gun for Sailorsun?
SailorSun.org and The Wotch are created by two entirely separate comic studios. And considering how maliciously unscrupulous the heads of the SS.org study have been shown to be, I would not be remotely surprised if they originally stole Bay’s TG ray.
wait a sec, THIS was the secret plan.. that Robyn didn’t tell Bea?! and yet Robyn also didn’t know, that Bea can’t handle her booze.
Finally! After over ten years, CD begins to redraw the line that blurred in way back in Comic #37. When CD fudged that line, giving Anne powers off camera I began to question whether the cameos were those characters, or actors playing them. If Anne’s only starring in a Web Comic where she’s The Wotch…then why does she have powers off camera…and does that mean the Cheer! Girls are actresses or actual teenage genderswitched ex-jock cheerleaders….
I pondered this for YEARS….
Now at least one part of the puzzle is solved. The other is still a bit blurry (sometimes it seems like one, sometimes the other).
Yeah, going back and seeing that comic when Sonja first appeared last week, my immediate thought was “Wait, how the heck did the actor who plays Jason get ka-girl’d in this comic’s universe?” I find it really cool that CD is actually explaining that.
You’re confusing two different characters, though that’s mostly my fault for being vague in the comic description. The “Robyn” we’re seeing here is actually the actress Ellie, being scanned to allow the comic studio to create Robin’s female alter ego in The Wotch (who is known as Robyn). It’s not the Robyn who is Bay’s readheaded former friend.
I’ve corrected the description to avoid further confusion.
sorry man, I can’t keep up with the online comics.
“Work off” last panel.
Whoops! I actually rewrote that entire panel to fix a different issue, so that typo’s completely my fault. lol
Maybe it’s because I’m tired (11 hour work day), but I’m confused.
They zap Robin and Jason with the clone ray to make them look like Elli and Sonja for a single panel, but because the ray doesn’t last long Elli and Sonja step in to play the their TG-ed counterparts for the rest of the strip/page/etc. Am I close?
I think that the Wotch comics is movie / series in Sailor Sun and not really comics.
Yes, that’s an accurate summary of what Sonja explained in this comic. You weren’t as confused as you thought. 🙂
So, a greenscreen.
I never imagined I would say this but Neal and Rog deserve what they are about to get.
Meanwhile, over at the Wotch, they are saying the SailorSun TG rayguns are fake and you actually have a witch on staff. [Or that’s what they SHOULD be saying.]
Well, it’s hard to find somebody who is a good actress who can play an attractive teenager AND who is a skilled witch as well, so it’s easier just to cast the character normally and outsource the magic.
…but we saw the “real” Anne transform Jason, didn’t we?
