1122 : Equinophobia It Is!
Alright, a few things about this comic…
1) Sorry for it being late. Lots of things going on. Due to it being posted this weekend, Monday’s comic will be posted Monday Afternoon to give the normal people (who might not see it on the weekend a chance to see it before Monday’s release).
2) It’s something that hasn’t been covered in the comic much (mentioned a few times) Brad has a fear of horseback riding due to a traumatic event that happened when he was a kid.
3) Since this comic is being posted as soon as I complete it, Robert will be checking it when he has the opportunity. So hopefully the corrected version will be posted soon.
Enjoy all!
EDIT: Hey folks, Robert here. I’ve made the necessary corrections.
AKA “hippophobia” which doesn’t mix Latin with Greek.
I see a very big problem for the edited edition of Bay: Mom won’t really be “Mom” in her mind.
I also notice that Trav has just told Bay that Berry is another Bay, although I don’t think he realizes what he’s done yet.
And Berry is really the most authentic version of both Brad and Bay now, and really the only one who can really explain to Mom.
Speaking of Mom, when is Mom showing up?
> Mom won’t really be “Mom” in her mind.
Why not? If Bay remembers being from Ottawa, why would she not remember her mother? She’s spent just as much time not being in Ottawa as a woman as she has spent not being with her mother.
> Berry … is really the only one who can really explain to Mom.
Bay also remembers having been a boy. Plus, Brad is there to fill in any missing specifics when they both explain things to their mother.
Which reminds me… I bet that’s when Berry will do her big reveal! I don’t think it would make sense for her not to pipe up and explain who she is at that point.
The impression I get is that Bay remembers he Brad years as a story, as if she’d read about it or been told the tale. She doesn’t have real childhood memories any more. She knows that her mom is her mom, but doesn’t feel that she’s “Mom” the way, say, that Brady feels that Bay is “Mommy!”
But Berry, who still has all her memories, does definitely feel those “Mom!” feelings, probably more than either Brad or Bay now. Brad should feel something like he’s been in a coma or something; its like he’s only been out of contact with his mother for a much shorter time, even if he understands it’s really been much longer. But, hey, not his fault, right? Not telling Mom was all Bay’s responsibility. Well, and Berry’s, once he finds out Berry is also Bay.
Which makes me think of something I didn’t think of before. Berry could be in contact with their mother now, but just hasn’t told her mother exactly who she is. Seems to me that Mary Smith would know Trav’s mom, Mrs. Delmart; they might even be good friends.
There is difference between being mother and being “Mom”. She would KNOW it’s her mother, question is if she would be FEELING it.
Berry’s pupils aren’t small enough in my opinion – she just looks like she’s standing.
Well darn, this comic seems to disprove a theory I’ve had for a while about Bay’s knowledge of Berry. I’d been thinking it was possible that Bay knew exactly who Berry was, but was humoring her to find out when she was planning to tell everyone.
But that question mark at the end seems to prove that she’s confused by Trav’s statement, which would not happen if she was secretly in the know.
Btw Robert, there’s a spelling mistake at panel 2:
“I use to be a boy…”
It’s actually ‘used’.
So there is. Whoops! I’ll fix is immediately.
I don’t know; given the way I hear people saying that phrase, more often it sounds like “I use to” than “I used to”; both ‘t’ and ‘d’ are alveolar stops, so eliding the ‘d’ makes the phrase flow more smoothly. It may be sloppy grammar, but it’s a better reflection of how we speak
Poor Bay. Now I feel sorry for zer.
Loses most of zer memories but retains the memory of being Canadian. So sad.
on the bright side, she dumped one of her phobias into new Brad~
This comic really just proves my point. Without all her memories, both good and bad, Bay is…diminished. They say a person is the sum of their memories (this is doubly true for Time Lords, but I digress). Hopes, Dreams, Fears, Anxieties…all come largely from memories. Without them, your not the same person. And thusly Bay is no longer Bay.
lol – Bay’s supposed to be ‘just’ a girl now – but I’ve NEVER seen ANY girl stretch their breasts like taffy LMAO
