Bay Smith is a main character. Once a guy, she was turned into a girl several years ago. She keeps this fact a secret, and only a handful of people know.
She's now a struggling actress whose roommate is actually her daughter from an alternate future timeline.
I know a guy who moved to Minnesota from New Zealand, and he had a heck of time with the Immigration people. Yet in the very same city he came in through (LA), I do believe is a sactuary city for illegal aliens. The U.S. has a screw immigration system.
While I agree that yelling probably isn’t the best solution, the idiot behind the wicket does kind of deserve it for even suggesting such a stupid appointment time. Unless having said appointment automatically defers the deportation, which is unlikely. Of course Bay has an “attitude” when faced with bureaucratic idiocy. And the fact that the same idiot cut Bay off mid sentence with the condecending BS about learning to read English last strip has probably put her on edge, justifiably.
BTW, “councillor” is spelled correctly, but the term should be “counselor.” The former would be some kind of official (member of a council), while the latter would be someone who gives advice, which seems to be what the context of the remark is. “Council” doesn’t apply in the immigration context, at least not in the US.
And the bureaucrat harassing Bay is behaving completely according to expectations. She’s not there to be helpful or accommodating. She’s there to put check marks in boxes on endless reams of paper… Too bad for Bay. Although Bay would only have to go back to Canada, a nice place, rather than South Sudan, North Korea, or Somalia.
I acquired my initially szkcjaek from my friend. I’m so Excellent! I don’t know what to do about it. This really is the 2nd one I’ve acquired presently and the turnaround time is weeks. I have been incredibly let down.
Legal working immigrants are treated like dirt, but they make is much easier for illegal migrants.

I meant to say “screwy” in that last sentence.
Apologies in advance for anyone who’s gunna attack me for making a political statement.
Attack Attack! Grrr! Arg! Grammer nazi!
Maybe if Bay were Hispanic and not Anglo…or if she made it clear that she planned to vote (illegally) for the politically correct candidate and cause…
…… What?!?!? Maybe the comments should be shut off got awhile so comments like those above this one can be avoided.
Yes, indeedy! Censorship is always the best way to deal with ideas and thoughts one does not like or agree with.
