1192 : Those Gears Are Turning…
Wow, this topic came up quicker than I expected.
If you’re wondering what “file” Bay is referring to, here’s the comics where Robyn and Bay recount their recollections of the fateful night that destroyed their friendship, and the aftermath:

did anyone order a dropped bombshell, with a side of reality check?
And any second now she will be a totally different person with no idea what’s going on.
Someone’s been played. And it may be both of them.
Of course it was both of them. Those producers had no intention of letting their starving actors get away or do anything other than exactly what they wanted.
FINALLY! Ohh, I’ve been waiting so long for this shoe to drop! <3
Now Bay and Robyn can finally reconcile, and those two ******* producers can finally be sued, tried and sent to jail! 🙂 Woohoo!
YEAH!!
Just goes to show those producers are just as bad as Tom.
Tom didn’t roofie anyone and get them raped. He’s still a bad person, but Chris and Doug were worse.
It’s hard to say who is worse.
The producers forcefully shape-shifted Bay, got her impregnated and otherwise exploited her.
Tom was rewriting people’s bodies and minds, first by ineptitude and later on purpose.
Both were treating people as objects left, right and center.
I’m pretty sure rewriting people’s bodies and minds is worse. Especially considering the producers, as far as we know, only did it once. (In linear time at least.)
They also time-jacked Honey, though. Twice. And the first time caused the annihilation of the fetus in Bay’s womb.
So we have to consider their messing with the timeline and the families of the two girls they abducted, who have now been left behind bereaved in the alternate timelines.
I feel Chris and Doug were worse. They drugged Bay, got her raped, and caused her to have what amounts to an abortion, all to save a couple of bucks not having to cast a child to play Chibi-Sun. And they did this all while kidnapping a child. Add on the fact that they permanently buggered up Brad’s life by turning him into Bay in the first place, and let Bay and Robyn each think the other was responsible for what happened that night.
Note that I’m not trying to gloss over anything Tom did. He was an amoral, sociopathic prick who was trying to conquer the world with a mind controlled army. I just feel, considering how petty their motives were, Chris and Doug are the more villainous characters.
Bat and Robyn do not seam to me to be the type to let a lawyer handle it. I think they will handle it themselves.
Congratulations! You’re BOTH idiots 😀
How is Bay an “idiot” in any way, shape, or form in this context? I honestly, can’t figure out your logic, here.
Well, Bay thought Robyn had a deliberate hand in what the producers were scheming for her but Robyn was played just like Bay was. She was given a free credit card from Chris (one of the producers) for her to go partying at a bar with Bay. I think the only reason Chris did that was part of his silly Chibi-Sun plan of insuring he can pull out Bay’s future daughter from his time portal, by drugging Bay (who I believe was that orange-haired bartender in disguise) to sleep with some random guy (who turned out to be Ethan’s brother, Matthew, which is why Honey’s and Brady’s DNA matches so closely to Ethan’s).
For Robyn to be leaving the studio the day after that night, it wouldn’t mean that she wanted to curry favour with the producers. Knowing about a particular slime machine from past experience and having to sign for their unknown package when Bay had chased them up into the rafters doesn’t applied that she knew about their plans.
When Chris first heard about his newest hire’ name (Robyn Marks), he thought of it being a stupid name and likely written it down the folder as he was discussing it with Doug along with getting someone to play Chibi-Sun. When Bay saw Robyn’s name written on that folder, she just assumed that Robyn was intentionally part of it. And that’s just on Bay’s side of things.
Bay learnt of Chris’ plans eventually and assumed from the way that those events occurred that Robyn was involved.
Robyn didn’t really know anything about Chris’ plans or what had happened to Bay and assumed that Bay had irresponsibly forgotten about letting her sleepover at Bay’s apartment for sake of her final exam.
From both a lack of knowledge and mis-communication, they both never really looked any deeper into about what really happened and just chose to be very bitter with each other since. It’s only now that they’re actually talking about it and the missing pieces are now falling into place. Thus realizing they were now and then being idiots!
@Jenny none of that makes them idiots. Getting raped doesn’t make Bay an idiot.
There is no logic – it was just a joke… no ranting or tight underwear required – just a joke
How is Bay an idiot here? She was the victim.
Again – just a joke
Hmm. I’m guessing Robyn doesn’t know Honey is Bay’s daughter.
Let’s see now, Morgan hasn’t actually showed up yet, and since Jo is there, Matt should probably be there too, which likely means that Matt and Honey are going to find out they are father and daughter soon. And speaking of relations, does anyone remember that Heather found her mother and arranged for her to be here today?
I’m quite looking forward to seeing Bay’s mom show up. Perhaps just as she’s walking down the isle? That would be a pretty emotional scene.
But the biggest reveal is, of course, going to be Auction Guy’s actual name! Surely Bay won’t tie the knot without somehow learning it. If not from the vows themselves, lol.
Wait, Does Honey know about the drugging?
Obviously she must know that Bay doesn’t remember that night (Unless she thinks her conception hadn’t occurred at all in this timeline)
I’m expecting Robyn to apologize to Bay (While Honey is still in her body) and then Honey will find out she was a rape baby
Did Bay really get raped though? She was ruffied, but not by the guy who did the deed. And Bay came onto him.
It’s still rape. She wasn’t in her right mind, so it doesn’t matter if ‘she came on to him’. If a party is intoxicated in any way, they aren’t thinking rationally and are making decisions they wouldn’t otherwise.
Not cool for saying it wasn’t rape.
It’s still Rape since she couldn’t consent.
Don’t be too harsh on Vimmy. Society as a whole has only recently started to recognize what constitutes lack of consent. Not 10 years ago, I would hazard a guess that a large proportion of Americans would not have considered Honey’s conception to have been rape for exactly the reason that Vimmy gave.
Thankfully, things are changing swiftly now, in our deeply interconnected world.
I think the words you are looking for is “rape by proxy” The guy who knocked her up hosestly acted in good faith and thought it was consensual, so you might have a hard time convicting him. Especially if he was drunk as well. The people who put the drugs in Bay’s drinks DEFINITELY knew what they were doing, in fact an argument COULD be made (not sure if it counts in this case, my law is shaky) that they RAPED both parties (does rape by deceit count, if you think are with a willing party, but someone drugged them to set you for a lawsuit? I know those producers didn’t sue but I am trying to think of the closet thing to a real life equivalent to this fiasco I can come with, and I am struggling.) In any case my point is BOTH Bay AND Honey’s Father are dupes victims (though to varying degrees as only Bay had any trauma from it) off Bay’s skeezy producers.
I’ll say that Bay was sooner peeved with those producers for getting her knocked up than Matthew for doing it with her. Matthew wouldn’t know any better about Chris’ plans.
It does explain why Bay was so cautious afterwards about dating and drinking.
I guess the next page is running late?
It’s usually updated on a Monday/Thursday basis.
We actually update this comic at midnight on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Unfortunately, there’s rarely any buffer to speak of, and double-unfortunately, CD is sick this week. Which is why there was no comic on Wednesday.
We hope to have one up for Friday, though.
@Robert – It’s going around. Half my friends are down with assorted crud.
Bay being drugged may be one reason that their memories of the event don’t line up, but it doesn’t explain all of it.
It’s rape from Bay’s point of view, but poor Matt fell in love with her and he’s still in love with her. This is going to have very interesting results when Matt shows up. And of course, he will show up.
Oh man, I’d forgotten about that page. If/when Matt shows up today, talk about AWKWARD!
And now that Heather’s gotten a new hair color and style, there won’t be as simple of a connection between her and Bay for Matt to potentially latch onto.
Ooog. I’d forgotten about Matt…
Oh, man. This … this might suck. @_@
Reconciliation with your future sister in law, nice. Well hopefully at least.
