Well, as I mentioned on Monday’s filler, the software I use to make comics (CorelDraw and Corel Photopaint) has crapped out on my computer.

I did see it coming, I reinstalled my OS on my computer last month and when doing so, I re-installed CorelDraw. Only this time it kept giving me a 30 day trial count down.

I’ve called the help center a number of times, which kept giving me, “We are currently training our staff to serve you better, please call back later.” message.

I sent a email asking for some support to the company, who sent back a response which had the information I already knew, AND to call customer support for further assistance.

ARRRGGGG!

Now I’ve been a Corel user since CorelDraw 3, and a customer since 1996… Why have I not switched to the industry standard of Adobe? Well… 2 reasons. First, Adobe is insanely expensive to legally own the software, and second, I’ve been using Corel for so long, I know the software pretty well.

Well, now I’m stuck in Hawaii with an expired trail version of Corel (Despite actually having BOUGHT it last year) and the Corel customer support (which I’m starting to believe doesn’t actually exist) doesn’t seem to be a help at all. SO… I guess I’m stuck attempting to learn the Adobe software till I get home after xmas. Which means if I get to know it well, I might attempt to switch too it for my graphic and comic needs.

Sorry Corel. If a long time customer and consumer of your product is left hanging, why should I keep using your product when the industry standard is your competition?
