Bay Smith is a main character. Once a guy, she was turned into a girl several years ago. She keeps this fact a secret, and only a handful of people know.
She's now a struggling actress whose roommate is actually her daughter from an alternate future timeline.
Thanks for pointing that out. I’ve converted the link to point to Tselsebar’s DA gallery, which is surprisingly active, actually. Well, it was last year, which is way more recently than the last Cheer comic came out.
Very sad about the Cheer comic, I greatly enjoyed it when it was active, but at least the character are seeing some life here even if it is mostly Jo, but she was one of the funniest.
Funny you should say that. I just followed the link and there’s a new sketch with the caption, “Has it really been almost a year since I’ve uploaded anything? Wow, I’m the worst…”
Dawnie in the background could have a very important role, just think if they have someone giving them trouble about doing something they need for the wedding she can change their mind.
Considering that she is shown in the cast pictures to the left of the comic and listed in the characters and tags below it despite not directly appearing in the comic, I’d say that’s a fair assumption. Otherwise, we’d have to assume it was a yet-to-be-identified cameo.
Well… strictly speaking, I added the character and tag entries under the assumption that the line is from Dawnie. I don’t *know* that it’s Dawnie, but she’s the most logical person to be saying that line.
This is actually the first time that a page has had a line from a character who doesn’t appear in the page.
@Robert I think you are mistaken in your last statement. This is far from the first time there’s been “a line from a character who doesn’t appear in the page”. That goes back to Steve in comic #004, who is notable for always being off-panel (although generally above rather than to the side).
Then there’s comic #016, which has Honey speaking without actually appearing in that comic itself. Only Teri’s reaction and the following comic make it clear that Honey is the one speaking. There are probably other examples, but I don’t feel like trying to track them all down right now.
You know, Dawnie, you can probably do anything you want in helping the wedding preparations. I suspect everyone else would agree to any suggestion you made.
Just a quibble, a very small quibble, a tiny little quibble, but the link to the Cheers! comic in Jo’s character summary seems to be broken.
I assume because the comic is defunct.
Too bad it’s not archived somewhere, just for historical reasons.

I’ll assume that word bubble in the last panel is Dawnie (cause I don’t see her)

Oh this is SUCH a bad idea…
Berry in charge of the Bachelorette Party… No good can come from this.
Oh I think *plenty* of good can come from this. 🙂
